Health & Safety in Construction

A Workshop for Estate Agents
Starting: 10th January 2024

Health and safety management is essential for any construction venture, to avoid any hazard or injuries. The aim of this course is to provide real estate professionals with safety awareness and for themselves and their clients.

The Health & Safety in Construction Workshop for Estate Agents by LEAD Training Services is a 3 hour workshop, which aims to prepare Real Estate professionals to limit risk and ensure safety for themselves and their clients when visiting a property or a construction site.

This workshop will provide attendees with a Certificate of Attendance at the end of course, in order for applicants to fulfil one of the requirements needed to apply for a Real Estate Licence by the Real Estate Licensing Board.

Course Date & Time

Webinar will be held on the 10th January 2024 from 5:30pm till 8:30pm.

Learning Outcomes

  • To help Real Estate professionals become more aware of their exposure to risks, as well as their obligations in providing safety for their clients.
  • To help Real Estate professionals follow and apply best safety practices when showing a property, conducting an open house, working in the office and driving alone or with clients.
  • To provide Real Estate professional with the best tools to help them quickly assess danger and take appropriate action.
  • To help professional understand the basic hazards related to construction sites’ activities.
  • Guide Real Estate professionals through key legislation relating to construction health and safety that professionals need to be aware of.
  • Discuss safety tips for issues that commonly come up before and during a showing.
  • Encourage all agents and employees to follow safety best practices as well as legal and company safety policies.

Syllabus Overview:

Delegates will get an overview of the health and safety issues including:

  • local law and enforcement
  • work preparation
  • general management of the site
  • working with onsite workers and contractors
  • the importance of method statements
  • the use of permits to work
  • the importance of managing environmental aspects and impacts related to construction projects
  • of  construction design and management
  • plans and risk assessments
  • roofs and fragile surfaces
  • working platforms and ladders
  • management, use and stability of scaffolds
  • fall arrest and suspension equipment

Certification

A signed and stamped certificate of attendance by the authorized Health & Safety officer/tutor will be given at the end of the course

Entry requirements

This course is ideal for students who are currently attending or have completed the Real Estate Agent Professional Award qualification.

Course Delivery Mode – Live Webinars

This course will be delivered via live online webinars.  The course trainers will be visible on screen via a professional webinar platform through which students can follow the trainer presenting live whilst also using a powerpoint presentation and sharing other resources as necessary.  Students will be able to interact with the trainer by sending questions or comments through the same webinar platform.  Our student support team will assist all students with simple instructions on how to access the webinar online.  A support line will also be made available to communicate with a student support officer in case of technical difficulties encountered during the live webinar.

All webinars will also be recorded and uploaded on the student online resources portal for future reference during home study.  Trainers will also dedicate very regular Q & A times during the webinar to ensure all students can have the chance to ask questions and reach the intended learning objectives.  The email and contact details of the trainer will also be made available in case students would wish to get in touch with the trainer throughout the course period.

Mr Bezzina is an experienced Health Manager with a vast history of working within the hospitality industry. He is highly skilled in Crisis Management, ISO 14001, Environmental Compliance, Emergency Management, and Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS). Mr Bezzina’s is a well renowned professional within the Health & Safety industry, with a Master’s Degree specializing in Health & Safety from Loughborough University.
