Special guests for this ceremony included the Honourable Minister of Education and Employment Evarist Bartolo, Mr. Martin Borg CEO of the National Commission of Further and Higher Education and Mr. Paul Gauci Executive Head of BOV Training Centre and trainer with LEAD Training Services. All of these, together with Mr James Grech Managing Director of LEAD Training Services delivered short speeches during this event.
During his welcome speech, Mr. James Grech congratulated all students who were invited for this ceremony to celebrate their achievements. He also listed the courses for which certificates were about to be awarded, namely:
Honourable Minister Bartolo spoke about the importance of lifelong learning and the need to keep advocating and investing in this aspect in order to better bridge the existing gap between education and employability. Minister Bartolo also mentioned that Government training subsidy schemes such as the Get Qualified Scheme should be maintained and possibly also made available for lower MQF Level accredited courses.
Mr. Martin Borg spoke about the work of the NCFHE which regulates professional education in a manner that professionals at work can rest assured that they are getting a high standard of lifelong education. Mr Borg also emphasized that success in a career is not just the result of technical skills and competencies but also of a high level of ethical and professional attitude towards work.
Mr Paul Gauci delivered a speech about the importance of continual professional development and highlighted the aspect of self-development, meaning that professionals should not rest on their employers to train them but should take full responsibility of their professional self-development.
Following the award of the certificates and class group photos, students, trainers and guests had the opportunity to network over finger food and drinks.
